About Us

There are thousands of smartwatch reviews on the internet. Most of them will tell you the specs. Almost none of them will tell you the truth.

Watch Buddy exists because we grew tired of review sites that paraphrase press releases, pad articles with manufacturer copy, and give glowing scores to every watch they receive for free. We wanted something different — a resource built on real testing, honest opinions, and zero obligation to any brand.

That is what Watch Buddy is today: the most straightforward place on the web to figure out which luxury smartwatch is actually worth your money.

WatchBuddy Best Luxury smartwatches Reviews, Rankings & Buying Guides About us

Who We Are

Watch Buddy is an independent smartwatch review and buying guide platform, founded in 2022 and focused exclusively on the premium end of the wearable market. We cover luxury smartwatches, designer wearables, and premium fitness trackers from brands including TAG Heuer, Apple, Garmin, Montblanc, and Louis Vuitton — with a primary readership in the United States. We are not affiliated with any watch manufacturer. We do not accept payment to change editorial ratings. We buy or borrow every watch we test, wear it for weeks, and then write what we actually found — including the parts that disappoint.

Who This Site Is For

Watch Buddy is written for a specific kind of buyer: someone who takes the purchase seriously, wants to understand what separates a great luxury smartwatch from an expensive one, and is willing to read more than three sentences to get a complete picture. If you are researching your first premium smartwatch and want a trustworthy shortlist — we have buying guides for you. If you already own a TAG Heuer Connected and are wondering whether the latest generation is worth the upgrade — we have reviewed both. If you are comparing a Swiss-made designer watch against an Apple Watch Ultra and need a side-by-side breakdown that does not pull punches — that is exactly what we write.

What We Cover

The luxury smartwatch category has expanded dramatically. In 2026, you are not simply choosing between Apple and Garmin. Swiss watchmakers have entered the space. AI-powered wearables exist. Some of the most compelling options come from brands that most buyers have never considered. Watch Buddy exists to map all of it.

1. Luxury Smartwatch Reviews

Hands-on tests of the most significant releases in the premium wearables market. Every review covers build quality, display brightness and legibility, health and fitness sensors, battery life under real-world conditions, software experience, and whether the price is justified by the product.

We publish in-depth comparisons of leading models — including head-to-head breakdowns of the

Apple Watch Ultra 3 vs. TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 — so you can see exactly where each watch wins and where it falls short. You can read our full comparison at watch-buddy.com/apple-watch-ultra-vs-tag-heuer-connected.

2. Brand Comparisons

Side-by-side evaluations of the top luxury smartwatch brands — ranked across design, durability, health features, software support, and long-term value. We also look at resale value, since a smartwatch is a depreciating asset and buyers deserve to know that upfront.

3. Buying Guides

Structured guides for every buyer type and budget. Whether you are looking for a luxury smartwatch under $500, a designer smartwatch for women that reads as jewellery on the wrist, or the best GPS smartwatch for serious outdoor use — our guides give you a shortlist with honest reasoning behind every pick. Industry context on the wearables market is available from Statista’s wearables market overview, which we reference when contextualising category growth and pricing trends.

The Luxury Smartwatch Brands We Cover in Depth

Our editorial focus covers the most important names in premium wearables:

  • TAG Heuer Connected — Swiss precision engineering on Wear OS. The reference point for what a true designer smartwatch should be.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3 — Titanium casing, 3,000-nit display, and the most comprehensive health sensor suite in consumer wearables as of 2026.
  • Garmin Fenix 8 — Sixteen days of battery life, advanced multi-band GPS, and a build tested to military durability standards.
  • Montblanc Summit — Haute horlogerie aesthetics with smartwatch internals. The strongest case for a boardroom luxury smartwatch.
  • Louis Vuitton Tambour — Fashion-first. Genuinely distinctive. Worth knowing about even if you do not buy it.
  • Citizen CZ Smart — The best value for buyers who want premium materials without a four-figure price tag.

For independent verification of brand heritage and watchmaking standards, we recommend consulting the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) — the authoritative body for Swiss watchmaking quality standards worldwide.

Our Editorial Standards

These are the rules we hold ourselves to, published here so you can hold us to them too.

  • Independent testing: Every watch we review is worn for a minimum of two weeks before we write about it. We track battery drain, test health sensors against clinical measurements, and assess build quality through daily use — not unboxing alone.
  • No paid ratings: Watch Buddy accepts display advertising, but our editorial scores are never for sale. Brands cannot pay to improve a rating or suppress a negative review.
  • Transparency on pricing: We state affiliate relationships where they exist. If we earn a commission when you purchase through a link, that is disclosed. It does not affect the score.
  • Corrections policy: When we get something wrong, we correct it publicly and note the update at the top of the article.
  • Date-stamped content: Every article carries a publish date and a last-updated date. The smartwatch market moves fast; we flag when content may be outdated.

Our approach to transparency aligns with the standards outlined in Google’s Search Quality Evaluator Guidelines — specifically the E-E-A-T framework (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) that governs how quality content is assessed.
